ISTD ballet classes in Woking

Ballet at LESTA is where Woking dancers learn the language of classical dance - posture, musicality and coordination - progressing through the excellent ISTD syllabus in our Knaphill studios.

Three-week trial · £25 · LESTA Studios, Knaphill

From wands and scarves in the younger grades to French terminology, barre work and pointe for selected seniors, every ballet class is taught by qualified teachers who care as much about kindness as they do about turnout.

Examinations are offered through the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. Higher grades can contribute UCAS points, but the weekly class is equally valuable for children who simply love to dance - a pathway families across Surrey can grow with from Year 1 onwards.

How the class grows

What they take at each age

Children move up when they have taken an exam, or when teachers feel they are ready for the next class. Sometimes groups follow school years.

  1. 1

    Begin

    5 to 7 year olds

Nurturing classes use props such as wands, scarves and baskets so children want to come back week after week. They can start working towards exams and move up through the grades.
