About us

A Woking dance school built on kindness, craft and a proper studio

The school was established in 2005. Today LESTA teaches from its own purpose-built studios in Knaphill, with qualified teachers who love watching children fulfil their ambitions.

The school

A school children can grow up in

LESTA, Leanne Edwards School of Theatre Arts, builds confidence in children and young people so they believe in their own abilities. Dance here is a life skill: nurturing, inspiring, and stretching enough for those who want exams, shows or a vocational pathway.

Teaching staff bring years of performing-arts experience and a great deal of energy to class, in a fun, safe environment. Whether you live in Knaphill, Bisley, Mindenhurst, Horsell, Brookwood or central Woking, every class is at LESTA Studios, easy to reach with parking outside.

By far the most organised, supportive and inclusive school we've experienced. Children are encouraged to reach their full potential, and only entered for exams when they are truly ready to succeed.

Leanne Edwards, principal and founder of LESTA

Our principal

Miss Leanne, ISTD teacher and founder

As a seven-year-old, Leanne was introduced to the exciting world of dance. Her passion for this fun, energetic art form grew over the years and allowed her to follow her dream of teaching others.

Having qualified as an ISTD teacher, Leanne opened her own dance school in 2005 and LESTA was born. Sixteen years later she moved into her own dance studios, and is delighted to welcome past, existing and new students to that purpose-built space.

Leanne loves teaching and enjoys nurturing the talents of her students, seeing them blossom as people as well as dancers. LESTA is a friendly, welcoming school and embraces everyone who wants to enjoy dance and musical theatre.
